GiftedGuitar | Supporting Students of Music with Fine Concert Instruments

Updated: Dec 20, 2023

Our friend, Greg Maloney, works closely with talented and underprivileged artists through his San Francisco Bay Area organization, GiftedGuitar. Founded in 2021, GiftedGuitar puts high-quality guitars into the hands of gifted students who are unable to purchase a fine, concert-level, instrument of their own.

Many students play loaned guitars throughout classes which can create a barrier to deeply connecting with their music. This program removes that barrier, offering recipients beautiful guitars to empower their musical journey and education. Most recently, GiftedGuitar donated a Hill Guitar Signature model to San Francisco Conservatory of Music student, Eduard Hyrmushan. Under instruction by the GRAMMY-nominated, Master of Guitar, David Tanenbaum, Hyrmushan now stands to maximize studies with his very own concert-level instrument.

We are honored to see Hill Company Guitars placed in the hands of students through this program and encourage others to learn more about how they too can support the organization's mission. Generous donations from around the world make it possible to commission and purchase Luthier-made guitars that can be gifted to artists in need. They truly level the playing field by providing high-level guitars to student artists who otherwise do not have the resources to acquire ownership of a fine instrument.

The GiftedGuitar motto:

“Changing Lives One Guitar at a Time.”
